✋‼️New members are required to help with SCUD the first 3 months they are at the shop!‼️✋
More senior members are expected to attend 3 SCUDs per year
****The shop is entirely volunteer run so all members are required to pitch in and help clean and maintain the shop. This work gets a lot of notice and helps your reputation at the shop. Keep an eye out for a call to action on the Discord #Announcements channel, and expect it to happen on the 3rd Sunday of Each Month from 12pm-3pm (barring special circumstances ). We also frequently make certain improvements such as putting in new storage, installing equipment, moving heavy items and cleaning out the constantly accumulating stock of wood and other materials.
Another reason that SCUDs are so essential, especially for newer members just learning the ins & out of the Shop, is that SCUD is also a major event for Shop-related networking and learning.
If your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend SCUD, please contact the SCUD Coordinator (the person sometimes changes, but they’ll be the one making the Discord announcement, just DM them there). There is never any shortage of things to work on around the shop, and the SCUD Coordinator can find something else you can work on at another time they’ll arrange with you. There are plenty of ‘make up’ tasks you can be assigned for all skill-levels.
