If You Damage Yourself

🛑‼️⛑️FIRST, ALWAYS TREAT THE INJURY PROMPTLY AND APPROPRIATELY & ELIMINATE THREATS TO IMMEDIATE SAFETY BEFORE TAKING FURTHER ACTION!!⛑️‼️🛑

• First Aid kits are located outside the bathroom, at the top of the stairs, and on the wall of the main downstairs workroom
• A single-use Eyewash bottle is are located on the wall outside the bathroom. There is a mirror on the inside of the bathroom door.
• Upstairs fire extinguishers are located outside the bathroom & at the top of the stairs along with the first two first aid kids, as well as a larger CO2 extinguisher at the end of the railing
• Downstairs fire extinguishers are located at the front and back of the main workspace, as well as the larger CO2 extinguisher for the hot room
• Icepacks are located inside the freezer portion of the mini-fridge
• If something feels even a little bit serious, DON’T HESITATE TO CALL FOR MEDICAL HELP!!

Once the emergent problem has been resolved, please alert the Shop:

• Email [email protected] and let the Health & Safety Team know there’s been an incident and what happened
• Fill out an Injury Report Form, copies of which can be found inside any of the First Aid kits mentioned above. This allows us to have a formal record we can use to improve our operating methods to prevent recurrence, and track first aid inventory for replenishing
  • Completed forms can be placed in the binder in the main downstairs workroom

If You Damage A Tool

You’re NOT in trouble! We’re just glad it wasn’t you. All we ask is that you please report the item broken so we can look into it and solve the problem—it’s what we do here.

To report damage to a tool or other Shop property, please use the most relevant Discord channel to let other users of that section know so that they can plan their own work around the repair time, and to inform the Stewards and Instructors of an area of needed maintenance.

If a Steward or Instructor happens to be around when the issue occurs, you can speak with them directly to relay the problem to the rest of the section. You can also tell the Admin Team as a whole by emailing [email protected].

The important thing is that you make people aware and Do Not just leave it broken for the next person to discover!
